The boy’s have been begging for months to get a puppy of their own.  Gavin keeps saying that he is “old enough to be responsible for a puppy”.  Both boys put in their letter to Santa that they wanted a black puppy for Christmas.  Santa delivered their request last night via his invisible elf, Auntie Laura.  Holly was on our doorstep just long enough for the boys to scream “It’s a Puppy!!!” and then she jetted off down the road.  Thank goodness auntie Laura stuck around behind a corner or else Holly would be halfway to Canada by now.  Fortunately, Auntie Laura coaxed her back and we were able to calm her down after a while.  Holly came with treats, a letter from Santa, her bed, food and a big red bow! She’s still getting acquainted with us, our home, and our 70 lb puppy Otto but all in all I think Santa did quite a good job!
